Project Overview

Spinning was a class-wide project organized for Relais pour la Vie at our school (LGK). Instead of one big group working on everything together, every team in the class took ownership of a different part of the overall system. My part was building the online leaderboard that displayed live results during the event.

My Role

  • Online Leaderboard: designed and built the live leaderboard with SvelteKit

Frontend

  • SvelteKit: used to build and serve the live leaderboard interface

Working Across Teams

Because the project was split between several teams, each working on its own module, the biggest lesson wasn't technical it was about dividing the work. Staying within your own area worked well, but as soon as a topic crossed into someone else's scope, it had to be actively communicated rather than decided alone.

A good example was anonymizing student data: this touched three different teams at once (Frontend, Frontend Admin and Database), so all of us had to sit down together and agree on a shared approach before anyone could keep building.
