External experts who visited our class and what we learned from them
These are from semester 2
Jamey, a former BTS CLC student, showed us how project management actually works in the real world: how large companies handle big budgets, deadlines, and stakeholders on real projects, beyond what we see in the theoretical course material.
Arnaud, from ARHS Group here in Luxembourg, spent a full week introducing us to AWS. Since we mostly work with Azure in class, it was valuable to see a different cloud provider and get a broader perspective on the cloud landscape.
Xavier taught us PowerShell and PS scripting. What made it interesting was learning the topic from a real expert instead of a regular teacher, and spending a whole week on the same subject, which let us go much deeper into the details and made it stick a lot better.
Noah and Clara from Devoteam Luxembourg ran a French language mock interview with us, Noah as the IT expert and Clara on the HR side. It was a realistic look at how a technical interview is actually structured and judged from both sides of the table.
We visited ARHS Group again for a recap of AWS re:Invent, where they walked us through a wide range of AWS IT solutions and tools that were announced or highlighted at the conference.
